Starlink released a new node system aimed at providing more powerful and reliable blockchain storage solutions through scalability, performance, and privacy.
Starlink adopts Delegated Proof (Delegated Proof of Stack) consensus algorithm for node system. The DPOS algorithm ensures high throughput and low latency at the same time reduces power consumption as well as computing resources. Nodes hold tokens, they are elected by the community in order to establish consensus and verify transaction mechanism.
With regard to solutions, Starlink collaborates with blockchains, networks, services, and shardchains to transform existing blockchain technologies and applications. It uses blockchain distributed structure for data authentication and storage, generates and updates data using distributed nodes and consensus algorithms. At the same time, Starlink adopts the world leading node network, smart contract, and Dpos Hybrid Consensus Mechanism to build scalable, scalable heterogeneous multi-chain systems, achieve second level consensus verification, and achieve unprecedented improvements in system stability and security. Based on the existing Ethereum network, Starlink developed excellent node protocols for light-weighted blockchain. The use of zk SNARKs makes it possible to break through. Each time a new block is generated by Starlink nodes, an SNARK proof will be generated to verify the validity of the block. All nodes in a network can store such proof without having to worry about original block data. There is no need to worry about block size, because Starlink protocol allows for high throughput networks and large decentralized blockchains.
The design principles of Starlink strictly follow the following principles at the beginning of the design:
• Trust based principle: Two nodes in Starlink can trust each other and exchange value directly. The current Internet system does not transfer value by itself. However, the transfer of value through financial intermediaries greatly reduces the efficiency of the whole value exchange. In Starlink, an agreement system is established based on cryptography, which verifies the uniqueness of data by adding time stamps. By making sure that time is unique, double payment is avoided.
• Distributed principle: Starlink system establishes a peer-to-peer network, forming a true equal and cooperative network. No centralized system or single point control system has been established. Damage to one node can not affect the whole system. No participant is allowed to turn off the system. Through distributed networks, a property database has been built on thousands of computers around the world.
• Incentive principle: Starlink brings together all the stakeholders involved in system maintenance and provides sufficient value rewards to the system participants and maintainers to achieve rewards for their efforts.
• Safety principle: The security measures embedded in Starlink won’t lead to a single failure point, and each node ensures that no data leaks. Therefore, it can guarantee confidentiality as well as guarantee the authenticity and non-repudiation of activities. Everyone who enters a blockchain network must use crypto technology. If information leaks occur, it must be due to the reckless operation of the parties involved.
• Privacy protection principles: Driven by artificial intelligence, Starlink allows people to control their data, independently determine what identity information they have, and when and where to reveal it. Blockchain prevents individuals from being monitored, since it is impossible for third parties to determine whose data belongs in the real world. The data will only be made available to a third party with the consent of the user, ensuring that even if his or her data brings value to others, he or she is entitled to compensation.
• Rights Protection Principles: Starlink is able to write smart contracts using code to digitize and code rules or rules. The user may sign a contract with his or her private key. Anyone can participate in construction of the whole network without providing true identity proof, credit proof, property proof. End social and economic hegemony, eliminate gender and race discrimination, promote social democracy and equality.
