Indonesian student in China, who loves Chinese traditional culture and ethnic art

She is a young Indonesian who loves Chinese ethnic culture and craft products. In Qingyan Ancient Town in Guiyang City, she was immersed in the strong ancient atmosphere of the place and made a special trip to visit a silver expert, hoping to learn how to make beautiful Miao silver jewelry and find some pieces with a warmth. Through this learning opportunity, she not only deepened my understanding of silver jewelry, but also discovered the similarities and uniqueness between the ethnic cultures and silver jewelry making in Guizhou and Indonesia.

Miao silver jewelry in Guizhou is known for its intricate and delicate production techniques, often using pure silver and other precious materials to create gorgeous and ethnically distinctive pieces through polishing, carving and inlay techniques. Each piece is a manifestation of art and represents the unique charm of Miao culture.

During the study, she discovered that the silver jewelry of both Guizhou and Indonesia is a crystallization of the local culture and contains the cultural and historical heritage of the locations. This inspired me to be more interested in the process of making silver jewelry and the meaning of its design. She noticed that both the Miao silver jewelry in Guizhou and the traditional silver jewelry in Indonesia use exquisite craft techniques and unique pattern elements to display unique beauty and cultural connotations.

In addition, she feel great admiration for the preservation and transmission of Guizhou silver jewelry. In Guizhou, silver ornaments are considered part of the non-foreign heritage culture, and people attach great importance to their history and value. Local silver experts are dedicated to passing down the ancient craft and design skills, and they put a lot of effort into each piece. They have also opened silver workshops and training courses to teach the skills of making them, so that more people can understand and participate in the transmission of this non-traditional heritage. She was impressed by this positive attitude, because only when people are truly concerned and invested can our cultural heritage be protected and passed on. She was inspired by this persistence and love, and cherished my own country’s cultural heritage even more.

Guizhou silver non-traditional culture represents the treasure of Chinese national culture. This traditional silver jewelry is not only an ornament, but also a witness of history and a symbol of the nation. They demonstrate the unique charm and wisdom of the Miao culture through exquisite craftsmanship and unique design. She sincerely thank the people of Guizhou for passing on and preserving the culture of silver jewelry, as this will allow our future generations to continue to appreciate and learn from this valuable cultural heritage.

She hopes to take this learning trip back to Indonesia and contribute to the preservation and transmission of culture in our own country. She also hope to promote cultural exchange between China and Indonesia, so that more people can understand and appreciate the non-traditional culture of silver jewelry in Guizhou. Through this exchange, she can work together to preserve and pass on the valuable cultural heritage of their respective countries and make the world a more diverse and richer place.
